The National Bank of Belgium rents the ex-Petercam building
The National Bank of Belgium (BNB/NBB) has taken over the Degroof/Petercam lease for the building located at 19, place Sainte-Gudule in the centre of Brussels. The bank has signed for 6,200m² of office space, for the remaining four-and-a-half-year period. Rent: EUR 195/m². Agents: BelSquare (for the tenant) and JLL (for the landlord). The building, owned by multiple private investors involved with Sainte-Gudule real estate, has been empty since Degroof Bank’s relocation to 10, rue Guimard.
‘The lease is the first achievement of BNB’s property reorganisation in Brussels', says Erik Verbruggen, Head of Leasing at JLL. 'The bank has an inefficient location, and is currently reviewing its real estate strategy. In time, this should lead to the sale of several non-strategic properties in order to liquidate its assets. The most obvious sale is that of the Royal Mint at 32, boulevard Pacheco.'
